The Film Archive of Railway Signalling & People
Calderdale
Four signal boxes that survived in 2018 out of a much larger number that served this area in its heyday are visited in the first video.
A second video. lower down the page, records the last day of operation at Hebden Bridge signal box filmed by The Friends of Hebden Bridge Station Signal Box Preservation Group.
The geographic locations of the signal boxes can be seen on a current OS Map: Mill Lane Junction, Halifax, Milner Royd Junction, Hebden Bridge. The map will place each location at the centre of the map panel, roll the mouse over the icon(s) to reveal what they represent. Increase the scale using the scale selector on the left to separate closely positioned icons.
These videos are intended for viewing at a maximum screen resolution of 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high. Please be aware that viewing at a larger size may result in a loss of clarity and a 'grainy' appearance.
